Cathy Jones, CST, CMT
Cathy is a Colorado native who has always been interested in health, and the human body. She's been a Massage Therapist since 1998. Before that she was a Personal Trainer. She is an avid skier, biker, and loves Yoga. So keeping her body happy is obviously very important to her. She applies the knowledge she gains while doing these activities to her work, and states that, "doing Yoga the past three years has really helped me to understand the human body in a much deeper and more profound way."
Cathy believes in building health from within and that a great start is to have good body awareness. It is because of this that after having been a massage therapist for 2 years she spent another two years studying Craniosacral Therapy. Cathy loves this work so much that she is now a Teacher's Assistant for the same two-year program that she went through.
This modality works primarily to decrease stress and or trauma within the nervous system. Let's not forget, it is the Nervous System that is in charge of all of our bodies functions be they conscious or unconscious such as regulating our heart beats and hormones to brain function, and even the ability to digest our food. Cathy very much enjoys not only doing massage but also using her Craniosacral skills to tune people into their own bodies so they can prevent future injuries and learn how to heal themselves.
This type of work is very empowering as it helps to teach people to understand and listen to their bodies. Cathy sincerely believes that all of our bodies have a great potential to heal themselves and that every ache or pain is just our body's way of trying to communicate with us. It is her wish to help you learn to listen to these messages your body is sending you!
Cathy Watts-Jones, who has been my Massage Therapist for many years, is a considerate and compassionate professional in every way. I am particularly impressed by her efforts in continuing her education and her in-depth knowledge of the human anatomy, knowledge that enabled her to discover that I had an abdominal aneurysm. Her insistence for me to seek a medical opinion resulted in a successful procedure to correct that very serious and life threatening problem. She is in my opinion, the very best! - C H Denver, CO.
I have been seeing Cathy Watts-Jones since Feb 1999 as a result of an injury due to a car accident. I was referred to her by my surgeon. After having my second surgery for Thoracic Outlet Syndrome I was still in a great deal of pain. I was seeing a physical therapist and an occupational therapist to get more mobility in my arm but the pain was holding me back. Once I started seeing Cathy and working with her each week the pain levels started to drop. Unfortunately I needed two more surgeries to correct the damage done in this car accident. Cathy has gone the extra mile in my care. She has taken the time to learn about Thoracic Outlet Syndrome and even came to observe my last surgery so she could better understand what was being done and better treat me. Not only has she taken the time to learn more of my needs, she has taken the time to get to know me, who I am and the things in life that are important to me. When my 7 year old had surgery she sent him cards and called to make sure things went well. As a massage therapist she truly knows her job. There are days that I am still in a great deal of pain. I know that I have a condition that I will have to deal with for the rest of my life. By using the knowledge that Cathy has empowered me with I am able to reduce the amount of pain that I have and have a better quality of life. I am indeed grateful for her and all that she continues to help me through. I could not have progresses in my recovery to the degree that I have if it had not been for her. - C K Denver CO
I have been receiving massage from Cathy Jones regularly one time per week for almost a year. I have TOS ( Thoracic Outlet Syndrome ) and a fusion in C4, 5,& 6 and scoliosis. I have had several massage therapists and I choose to go to Cathy for several reasons:
I have chronic pain and Cathy is able to focus on my needs whatever they may be at any particular time to give me relief, and she helps me with my body awareness. I would recommend Cathy to anyone! - W M Denver, CO
